Welcome

hankidoHankido is a Korean martial art developed by the late grandmaster Myung Jae Nam. Hankido emphasizes soft circular movements in which the energy of the opponent is directed back at him. Not only is Hankido a great martial arts for self defense purposes it also improves the health and well-being of the practitioners. In Europe several schools are active which are all under the guidance of Master Ko Baek Yong. Master Ko Baek Yong was one of Myung Jae Nam’s most prominent students who helped to spread the art of hankido around the globe. After the death of his teacher master Ko Baek Yong opened the International HKD Practice Center in Seoul where students from all over the world are welcome to learn the arts of Hankido and Hankumdo.

In Europe students of Master Ko Baek Yong opened up several schools, most notably in Greece, Finland and the Netherlands. This site was put together as a place for those students to share and exchange information.

We would like to point out that this is not the site of yet another HKD organization. All European schools under Master Ko Baek Yong are also member of the International HKD Federation in Korea, which was founded by kuksanim Myung Jae Nam. We do not issue dan certificates. All certification is done by the International HKD Federation in Korea.

People who are interested in learning Hankido and Hankumdo are free to contact us at anytime. If you are interested in hosting a seminar with master Ko Baek Yong or one of his prominent students, please contact us.
